Jun.17.16. Interview with Pinnacle CEO Jessica Davis
Recently, producer Dennis Tobler and I sat down with no less than Pinnacle CEO Jessica Davis to talk about the history and growth of sports book operations in the Caribbean Islands since the mid-1990s. Ms. Davis started in the industry working for World Wide TeleSports (WWTS) during the pioneer days of island sports books. Over the years, she steadily rose up the ranks to now lead Pinnacle, one of the world’s largest sports books currently based in Curacao. Pinnacle’s global reach is second to none, extending into Europe and Asia.
As Ms. Davis noted, the mid to late 1990s was a time of transition and evolution spurred by new technology, namely the Internet which gave rise to new industries including online sports books. What it was like during those early days, and how the industry adapted through the years to serve a global clientele, are what make Ms. Davis’s insights so valuable to our documentary. We’re grateful for her support.
