The conversation to allow legalized gambling in American pro sports is definitely gaining more press coverage these days. In this Vox article, on ESPN and the New York Times, among others, people are now hearing stronger views for changing U.S. laws to allow wagering on sports. So far, the most vocal supporter has been NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who penned a New York Times article on November 13, 2014 titled “Legalize and Regulate Sports Betting”.

These developments only make our documentary project even more compelling and timely. As we continue to research and develop our story, we are fascinated by the current track of news events which seem to signify a monumental change coming in the not-too-distant future; a change that sports fans, state assemblies, and lately some pro gaming leagues are now clamoring for: legalized sports gambling. Wouldn’t it be poetic to have that be in the headlines by the time our documentary is completed and released?
