Aug.28.15. Interview with veteran sports handicapper Joseph D’Amico
Last night was a highlight interview with the master himself, Vegas stalwart and top-rank sports handicapper Joseph D’Amico, at the new Hooters sports bar in Henderson. One of our key objectives for this documentary is to bring you the inside story of sports betting from the actual movers and shakers within the industry, and Mr. D’Amico fits that bill in spades. With his trademark zest and dynamic personality, Joe recounted the highlights of his 20+ years working with the best sports handicappers in town and becoming one himself through hard work, dedication and integrity. He walked us through how he built his own sports handicapping business from the ground up and expanded into other business ventures including his handicapping consultancy with major sports books and information services here in Las Vegas. His anecdotes on dealing with the grind of staying on top of the sports handicapping field are a must-see!
Above all, Joe is unapologetic about his love for this city, and in a recent Facebook post (August 22nd), he wrote: “WHY DO I LOVE VEGAS???? Just in the past 10 days, we saw, Uncle Kracker/Sugar Ray/Better Than Ezra/Eve6, Olivia Newton-John, Freestyle Explosion w/ 10 acts like Lisa Lisa/expose/Cover Girls/Debbie Deb, George Clinton and P Funk, and Motorhead/Saxon. From January 1st to now, (Just in Vegas) I think we’ve seen over 35 shows from Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, to Donny & Marie, to Fishbone, to Motley Crue to Marc Anthony, to Andre Bocceli, to Shania Twain, to stage shows like Mystere to Absinthe to ball games like USA Basketball, NBA Summer league, Maywheather/Pacqaio, UFC, WWE, to conventions like Wizard WEorld, etc. LAS VEGAS IS THE ENTERTAINMENT MECCA OF THE WORLD!!!!”
We’re truly pleased with our progress and look forward to our next set of interviews scheduled very soon. Stay tuned!
