Today we talked at length to sports journalist and offshore gambling magazine writer-publisher Buzz Daly for a narrative on how offshore sports books got started in the mid- to late-1990s. It was an eye-opening discussion on a topic that eludes most people and rarely gets publicized in the sports betting arena even today. In 2000, Mr. Daly visited many of the offshore sports book sites in Curacao, Costa Rica and Antigua, among others, and conferred with their owners for a firsthand account of their operations–all excellent material for our documentary.
